Why the calculator charges you for the rounded volume
Because that is what you will actually be invoiced for. Suppliers sell in increments — commonly 0.2 m³ — so a job needing 2.31 m³ is ordered and billed as 2.4 m³. Calculating cost from the raw volume consistently under-estimates the bill.
Where to get a rate
This calculator needs a price per cubic metre, and we deliberately do not supply one. Concrete rates move, and they differ by state, by metro versus regional, by supplier and by mix — a figure published here would be wrong for most readers and wrong for everyone within a year.
Ring two local suppliers, ask for their rate for the mix you need, and put that figure in above.
